Come and meet the gentle giants at their annual show in Bailey Park, Abergavenny.
The aim of SWSHS is : To Improve the Breed and Promote the Breeding of Shire Horses. South Wales Shire Horse Society was set up in 1983 by a group of people who were passionate about the Shire Horse breed and were concerned about its decline over several decades. Today the breed is now much more popular and refined. The South Wales Shire Horse Society is still just as passionate about the breed as ever and works tirelessly to support it.
We are hosting the regional qualifier for the Shire Horse of the Year Championship the final will take place in October at the Horse of the Year Show NEC Birmingham.
