Fountain Fine Art, 115 Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo, SA19 6EN Current Exhibitions Anthony Evans and Chris Griffin 14/01/2012 to 04/02/2012 Two artists who share a studio in Cardiff, share an exhibition here in Llandeilo. "This collection of drawings, paintings, assemblages and prints reflects my continuing obsession with the diverse landscapes of Wales, its people, architecture, icons and occasionally, animals. Children as well as adults should be able to 'read' my work because the inspiration for them very often stems from a personal delight in children's books recollected. So come and look, imagine and remember - it's what I do in the studio every day” - Anthony Evans Chris Griffin is primarily known for his colourful, textured paintings of the urban and rural Welsh landscape. Often using rich and emotional colour, the paintings develop into lyrical expressions of the landscape. The images are made by continual scraping and adjustment of the paint surface, the final image being determined more by feeling than any resemblance to the subject of the painting. Latterly, his work has also included a number of still life paintings.
