The Commemoration will extend over two days: Saturday 3rd May and Sunday 4th May. The principal events will be in the fine medieval Cathedral, formerly Brecon Priory.

Cathedral events

Saturday 3rd May 2.30pm Thomas Coke: Looking Back - Looking Forward The lead speaker will be the Reverend the Lord Leslie Griffiths of Burry Port. The celebration will be followed by tea provided by Pilgrims, the Cathedral Tea Room

Sunday 4th May 11.00 am Ecumenical Eucharist led by the Dean of Brecon, the Very Revd Geoffrey Marshall. The preacher will be Bishop Thomas Bickerton of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Also there will be an exhibition in the Brecknock Museum, a civic reception in the Guildhall and a Thomas Coke Town Trail.

May 3rd 2014 sees the 200th Anniversary of the death en route to missionary work in South Asia of the Revd Dr Thomas Coke. The occasion will be marked by a special programme of events in his birth place of Brecon in Powys, proudly hosted by Brecon Cathedral.
