1002 Nights: Gala Storytelling Performance

NaCOT (The National Centre for the Oral Tradition) is delighted to announce a first gala evening of storytelling featuring award-winning Welsh storymaster Michael Harvey with author and storyteller Geoff Mead. This gala evening will showcase a medley of amazing and amusing stories from the 1001 Arabian Nights plus the Winning Story from the 1002 Nights Short Story Competition.
Michael Harvey is one of the foremost storytellers in Europe and a regular guest at international storytelling festivals. He specialises in traditional Celtic stories, told in English, Welsh and Breton and has an extensive repertoire of stories from around the world. He is a charming and light-hearted performer and a great entertainer who will bring his own special magic to the evening.
Geoff Mead tells a wide range of stories from around the world and has a special affection for wonder tales. He has been a guest performer at the Toronto and Scottish international storytelling festivals. His new book Coming Home to Story: Storytelling Beyond Happily Ever After was published by Vala in November 2011
