This year, the Wales Book of the Year Short List Event is coming to Brecon
On Thursday 10 May Literature Wales will be joined by some of Wales' best loved poets as they announce which writers have made it on to the Wales Book of the Year 2012 Short List. In the tranquil surroundings of Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon, the audience will be treated to readings by current and former Bardd Plant Cymru Eurig Salisbury and Ceri Wyn Jones, National Poet of Wales Gillian Clarke and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. THE FOOD
One must sample Welsh Black Beef, the rose coloured beef is indigenous to the area and of the highest quality. Quality can also be associated with its pork and lamb, which is widely available in local farm shops, delicatessens and butchers. There is a strong tradition of farmhouse dairy production throughout, and this is reflected in the range of speciality cheeses available. Local producers, a number of these specialising in organic farming, baking, supply fresh fruit and vegetables, resulting in produce of the finest quality.
