Over the hill to Cwmcarvan

Meet the Monmouthshire Countryside Service on this 5 mile (8 km) walk starting at Mitchel-Troy village and ascending via a steep footpath to Craig y Dorth Hill. From here you will enjoy some of the most magnificient views over the Black Mountains and north Monmouthshire. You will continue down into the next valley before ascending to Cwmcarvan Church. Your return route will be back over the other side of Craig y Dorth Hill, through fields and lanes with more fantastic views.

Lots of stiles and 3 steep slopes. Bring your own packed lunch and a drink. Assistance dogs only please. Wear boots or stout shoes and bring waterproof clothing. Meet at the car park next to the church in Mitchel-Troy village (SO 492 104).
