The Art Shop & Gallery - 8 Cross Street, Abergavenny Current Exhibitions WINTER SHOW 2011 - Alchemy of the Imagination 5th November - 28th January 2012 Showcasing 3 artists Jayne Lennard - Sculptures inspired by the written word. Jayne transforms discarded objects and captures the intrinsic magic of the fairy tale. Amanda Caines - Contemporary jewellery made from found and discarded pieces that were once worn and loved. Glass, semi-precious stones and vintage jewellery lend a sense of history and continuity. See Amanda's artist page for more work. Andrea McLean - Paintings and etchings of imaginary maps. Green umber roads branch like a Jesse Tree. Built up slowly in layers of earth pigments, manganese blues, vermillions and madder lakes. Andrea charts her day to day experiences of the turning world. A bathroom full of nudes by the illustrator, Martina Jirankova-Limbrick. Martina was born in the Czeck republic and came to Britain to study illustration. Her artwork has been used in poetry and children's books. Welsh landscapes by new artist Andy Parker, who studied Fine Art at Central St. Martin's and the Art Academy. His landscape work has been described as evocative and atmospheric and his pochade oil sketches much admired and collected. William Brown's widow has kindly given us access to his lino and wood blocks. From these blocks there will be a new series of prints, including his iconic bears. A small collection of new paintings by Kumar Saraff- 'The Grwyne Fechan Valley Series' which includes views of Table Mountain, Sugarloaf and Skirrid Fawr - a taste of an exhibition of local landscapes planned for 2012.

Martin's Framing and Gallery - The Old Police Station, Baker Street, Abergavenny, NP7 5BB Current Exhibitions Opening of the new Gallery and exhibition of mixed works 3rd December 2011 - January 2012 The gallery shows the work of some of Wales top professional artists including John Knapp Fisher and Goff Danter. You will find some rare one off originals by some collectable artists plus limited edition Giclee prints and more besides. Open Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am - 5.00pm Friday December 3rd 2011 - Private View 7.30pm till 9.30pm

Abergavenny Museum - The Castle, Castle Street, Abergavenny Current Exhibitions The British Resistance in Wales 16 September 2011 - 25 February 2012 This exhibition tells the story of Britains secret resistance movement during World War II. It is inspired by the novel 'Resistance' by Owen Sheers. It will be released as a film on 25th November 2011.

Opening View -Thursday 12th January 2012, 6.30-9pm Open Fri/Sat/Sun 10.30 to 4pm and by appointment 07967145877 Click to email 19th January 2012 Tim Walker's Life Drawing Sessions are returning to the Artworkhouse Gallery as from Thursday 19 January. 30 January 2012 Abergavenny Art Group's 2012 programme resumes on 30 January 2012 with a presentation by Niel Bally entitled "My work as an artist and tutor". Niel Bally received a traditional training from the Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing in Oxford and the West Surrey College of Art and Design. Since the 1980s he has run his own courses and taught in a number of art schools and adult education colleges.
