Bio: The Mike Chisnall Trio is an exciting Jazz trio based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The band consists of Dominic Farrell on the Drums, Sam Jackson on the Bass, and led by Guitarist Mike Chisnall. Having met whilst studying Jazz at Leeds College of Music nearly 4 years ago, the trio is well versed in a widely diverse repertoire of Jazz, from `all American' classics, to contemporary Jazz, as well as their constantly growing set of original compositions. In between gigging and teaching Jazz around the country, this hard working band are regulars on the Leeds Jazz scene and are proving popular with peers and audiences alike.
Betws-y-Coed and the Conwy Valley have retained a strong connection with the arts ever since the original artists' colony. Many artists and craftsmen live and work in the area, and the festival has been organised to celebrate the artistic heritage of the area, the artists currently working here, and the artistic endeavours of local schoolchildren through workshops and competitions. Now in its third year, the festival is returning once more to Betws-y-Coed - the Gateway to Snowdonia and home of Britain's first Artists' Colony from 1844 to 1915.
