A full programme of Brecon Beacons National Park Authority guided walks, children's activities and family events for you to enjoy throughout April 2012.

Sat 31 March - Sun 15 April 10:00-16:00 every day Arts and Crafts Fayre at the Mountain Centre, LD3 8ER. Free entry. Come and browse a wide selection of arts and crafts at the National Park Visitor Centre throughout the school half term. Many are made locally, and all are individually hand-made pieces to treasure. Sat 21 and Sun 22 Apr 09:45 - 16:00 Safety on the Hills / Bronze NNAS Navigation course Ideal for beginners and for refreshing dormant skills; you'll learn useful navigation and mountain safety techniques. Do day 1 as an introduction or both days to gain the Bronze NNAS award. This NNAS accredited course is run by Manzoku at the Mountain Centre (LD3 8ER). £60 day 1 only, £110 two days. Booking essential 01874 623366. Sun 22 Apr 10:00 - 14:00 Wonderful Waterfalls The tree-lined gorges of the rivers Mellte and Hepste conceal spectacular waterfalls and rare fragile plants. Come and discover the magic of this Special Area of Conservation with the help of National Park wardens. Length: 4 miles / 6.5km. Total ascent: 150m. Grade: Strenuous. Suggested donation: £2 per person. Meet: Gwaun Hepste car park (SN 935 123 near Ystradfellte) - £4 pay & display. To book your place call 01874 623366.
