Vistas, Follies and Holy Well

@ near Penperlleni

Join the Monmouthshire Countryside Service for this 7 mile (11.25 km) walk starting from just south of Penperlleni. We will follow paths to the ancient Church at Mamhilad, and continue up the "Roman Road" to the Folly Tower above Pontypool to enjoy fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. We will carry on to reach a Holy Well and return along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal.

A strenuous walk with several steep slopes up and down hill and possibly slippery under foot. Lots of stiles. Please wear stout walking shoes or boots and bring waterproof clothing. Meet at the lay-by on the east of the A4042 about 1/3 mile north of the Secret Garden (Garden Centre) or about 1/2 mile south of Penperlleni (SO 319 037).
