@ The Education Centre, Parc Penallta

Events week at the Education Centre at Parc Penallta. A whole week of fun packed family activities at Parc Penallta. Perfect to liven up the school holidays! For more information please ring the education Centre at the Country Park on 01443 816853. All events are lead by the Country Parc Rangers and the Caerphilly Countryside Ranger Service. Wildflower Extravaganza - Sunday 14th Drop in to the Education Centre anytime and learn about the wealth of wildflowers that grow at Parc Penallta. See if your sense of smell is as good as a bee's and put your identification skills to the test. Time: 10.00-4.00pm. Let's Go Fly A kite! - Monday 15th Call in at the Education Centre and have a go at making a kite. All materials provided. Sessions at 10.00, 10.30, 11.00, 11.30 and 12.00. Kite Flying - Monday 15th Join us at the events arena to fly a kite. Bring your own kite or make one when you get there! Time: 1.30-4pm. Bushcraft Basics - Tuesday 16th Learn the basics of bush craft in the woods of parc penallta. Build shelters, learn how to light a fire without matches and bring some food to cook over the campfire. Call in at anytime or stay all day! Tea and coffee provided as long as the fire stays alight! Time: 10-4pm. Winged Wonders - Wednesday 17th Take a walk around the Parc with a Ranger to look for butterflies and dragonslies learning about their amazing lives. Time: 12.30-4.00pm. Bat and Moth Night - Wednesday 17th Join us for an evening stroll around the park looking for bats and moths as they take to the wing in search of food! Learn about these amazing creatures and their fascinating lives. (Not suitable for very young children). Time: 7-10pm. Mini Beast Mayhem - Thursday 18th. Enter a world in minature and hunt for bugs and insects around the Parc. Help us to identify some of the moth species caught overnight in our moth traps and make your very own recycled insect to take home! Time: 1.30-12.30pm. Pond Safari - Thursday 18th Explore the underwater world and meet some of the amazing animals that live in our ponds and rivers! Time: 1.30-4pm. Charcoal Making - Friday 19th Make your own artists's charcoal before putting your creative skills to the test and creating your own masterpiece. Time: 10-12.30pm Braniacs - Friday 19th Put your brains to the test at Parc Penallta with our challenging problem-solving course. Suitable for both adults and children. Time: 1.30-4pm. Mask Making - Saturday 20th Drop in to the Education Centre and let your artistic side shine by making your own wildlife inspired mask to take home. All materials are provided. Time: 10-4pm.
