Church Street Monmouth Monmouthshire NP25 3BU
phone: 01600 772467
The Savoy Theatre and Cinema stands on the oldest theatre site in Wales and is itself a very old and very beautiful example of 1920's cinevariete where cinema meets live performance. In practice after the talkies came to Monmouth in 1930, there was nothing live, but the current Trust which took over in 2010 took the bold step of re-introducing theatre, comedy and live music alongside regular first run mainstream films. Monmouth is now well and truly on the map as far as high class first rate entertainment is concerned. You can enjoy Batman one week and Michael McIntyre the next. This is the perfect place to watch a movie and re-live the glory days of old style cinema going. Prices are kept low deliberately to make the experience affordable to all. Don't miss this gem in the centre of Monmouth.
