A full programme of Brecon Beacons National Park Authority guided walks, children's activities and family events for you to enjoy throughout March and April 2010.

Saturday 27 March to Sunday 11 April Arts and Crafts Fayre 10:00 - 16:00 every day. Free entry. Family Friendly Event. Come and browse a wide selection of arts and crafts at the National Park Visitor Centre throughout the school half term. Many are made locally, and all are individually hand-made pieces to treasure. Saturday 10 April A Taste of Mynydd Du: Introduction to the Black Mountain 10:00 - 14:00. Free entry. GeoPark Event. A gentle introduction to the beauty of the Geopark's Black Mountain along its south west flank, with one steepish climb. Length, Grade & Ascent: 6m / 9km, Moderate, 150m. Meet: Glanamman public car park off the A474 (SN 676 136). Car park charges apply. Sunday 11 April Wedding Fayre at National Park Visitor Centre 12:00 - 16:00. Free entry. Event. Would you like your wedding set amongst one of the most spectacular views in the Brecon Beacons? If so, come along and plan your special day with us. Visit our own BBNP one-stop Wedding Fayre - the complete guide to your perfect day. Pamper yourself in the exquisite marquee complete with coffee and petit fours, see a range of exhibitors all based within the local area and chat to us about the planning and organising of your most memorable of days. Thursday 15 April Brecon Town Past & Present 14:15 - 16:30. Free entry. Family Friendly Guided Walk. GeoPark Event. (repeated Tuesday 25 May, Thursday 3 June, Tuesday 20 July, Thursday 19 August, Thursday 16 September, Thursday 21 October) A town walk, visiting sites of distinction, discovering Brecon's fascinating past and residents of renown. No dogs please. Length / Grade: Approximately 2 miles / Access for all. Meet: Canal Basin, Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon. Small charge for parking. Saturday 17 April A Castell, a Dragon & Views from Rhos Dirion 10:00 - 15:00. Free entry. Guided Walk. Visit the site of Castell Dinas believed to be the highest Norman Castle in Wales before ascending a ridge & walking to Pen Rhos Dirion for fine views at lunchtime. Length, Grade & Ascent: 9m / 14km, Energetic, 470m. Meet: Castle Inn, Pengenffordd (SO 174 296). Car park charges apply. Leaders: National Park Volunteers, Ros Grant & Anne Pritchard. Guided Walk. (repeated 25 September) A circular walk up through woodland looking at the National Parks' work on the public rights of way to the top of the Allt, once used by Iron Age settlers and Roman onwards, for one of the best viewpoints in the National Park, returning to the village hall for warming soups, teas and coffees. Length, Grade & Ascent: 5.3m / 8.5km, Moderate, 230m. Meet: Llangasty Village Hall (SO 122257). No charge for parking.
