September before the harvest is a great time for a vineyard tour. Join us for a marvellous day out at Ancre Hill Vineyard near Monmouth for a vineyard and winery tour followed by a tutored wine and cheese tasting. Ancre Hill Estates is a biodynamic vineyard producing award winning wine on the site. You will have a fully guided tour with owner Richard Morris of the vineyards and winery. What is the relationship between cows and award winning wine? Come along for the day and find out! After your vineyard tour, head to the Cellar Door for a fabulous tutored wine tasting and cheese tasting. You will enjoy a tasting of the complete range of Ancre Hill wines with Richard talking you through each one of them to help you appreciate the flavour notes. As you sip, enjoy some wonderful Welsh and international cheeses. Tom Lewis, owner of The Marches Delicatessen in Abergavenny, is selecting cheeses that compliment Ancre Hill Wines. He will talk to you about the cheeses, where and how they are made and why he selected a cheese to drink with that particular wine. You will be confident in making your own wine and cheese pairings at the end of the day!
